Week 9 Player of the Week:
Neil Garcia – Silverton – 25-359 yards, 10 TDs rushing; 14-23 for 231 yards, 5 TDs passing; 3 KO returns for 60 yards, 1 TD; 8 tackles
Garcia scored 11 touchdowns in Silverton’s BIG win over Kress 110-72! He ended the night with 590 yards of total offense. His 10 TDs rushing is the best single game performance of the season thus far! Silverton is now in a position to clinch a playoff berth with a win over Patton Springs this week.

Honorable Mentions:
Oscar Huertes – Grandfalls-Royalty – 19-24 for 331 yards, 5 TDs passing; 9-140 yards, 4 TDs rushing; 16 tackles
Huertes gained 471 yards of total offense as the Cowboys defeated the Vaqueros 79-53 in a game with major district implications. Receivers Jerry Lee Cadena and Abel Rodriguez were his main targets and both went over 100 yards receiving on the night.

Sammy Hernandez – Perrin-Whitt – 12-16 for 235 yards, 5 TDs passing; 13-177 yards, 4 TDs rushing
Perrin got a big district win over Savoy as the Pirates inch closer to a playoff berth in their first year of six-man football. Hernandez had a huge night gaining 412 yards of total offense in the 78-54 win.

Preston Lyons – Saint Jo – 6-8 for 216 yards, 3 TDs passing; 4-36 yards, 2 TDs rushing; 6 tackles, 1 fumble recovery
A solid performance as Lyons averaged 36 yards per completion that resulted in a touchdown half the time as Saint Jo beat Forestburg 69-19.

Devin Williams & Mason Rogers – Zephyr – 608 yards of total offense combined, 10 TDs score plus 4 TDs passing and 22 tackles between them.
Hard to pick which one had the bigger night in the Bulldogs 94-48 win over Evant.
Williams had 302 yards of total offense with 51 yards in punt returns: 6-108 yards, 4 TDs rushing; 1-45 yards, 1TD receiving; 9-12 for 149 yards, 4 TDs passing; 13 tackles
Rogers had 306 yards of total offense: 14-267 yards, 4 TDs rushing; 2-39 yards, 1 TD receiving; 9 tackles

Wyatt Sisco – Sterling City – 7-10-1 for 133 yards, 2 TDs passing; 29-177 yards, 3 TDs rushing; 9 tackles, 3 sacks
Another solid night for Sisco as Sterling City held on to beat Highland in a very tight game 52-36. His 29 carries helped eat up time and his three sacks were big. He scored three touchdowns and threw for two more.

Nathan Scates – Robert Lee – 3-99 yards, 3 TDs; 6 tackles, 2 for loss
Can’t get much better if you are a receiver than going for almost 100 yards on three catches and scoring all three times as Scates helped Robert Lee defeat Bronte in one of the state’s biggest rivalry games 69-24.

Man, what about Ben Crockett from Mclean? 373 yards rushing and 6 TDs along with 13 tackles, in a #1 vs #4 throttling of WD!?
