Week 15 Player of the Week:
Player of the Week:
Julian Fraga – Strawn – 8-268 yards, 3 TDs rushing, 1 KO return for TD
Easily Tanner Hodgkins or Carlos Villanueva could get the POW nod here, as they had huge nights as well for the Greyhounds, in their 102-71 win over Milford. Fraga, in particular, had a big second half in which Strawn scored 50 unanswered points to go ahead and for good in their 102-71 victory over Milford. Fraga averaged a crazy 33.5 yards per carry.

Honorable Mentions:
Marco Mendoza – Balmorhea – 18 tackles, 1 fumble recovery; 17-180 yards, 6 TDs rushing; 2-56 yards, 1 TD receiving; 7 2-pt PAT kicks
Mendoza scored 56 points and more importantly was the Bears main defensive threat, recording 18 tackles, two for a loss, in their big 96-66 win over Valley.

Nick Proulx – Borden County – 21-245 yards, 5 TDs rushing; 12 tackles, 1 caused fumble
The Coyote ground attack proved too much for Happy as BC won 70-38. Proulx found paydirt five times on the ground and racked up 245 yards, leading the Coyotes in both categories.

Wyatt Young – Jonesboro – 15-168 yards, 6 TDs rushing; 27-yard INT TD return; 16 tackles
Young’s pick-six as the first half was winding down was a key play for the Eagles. He scored three touchdowns in the second half to help his team pull away late. His 16 tackles were big on slowing down Tioga.

Tanner Hodgkins – Strawn – 19-129 yards, 6 TDs rushing; 1-64, 1 TD receiving; 11 tackles
Getting the call on many short yardage situations, Hodgkins gained much-needed hard-fought yardage and found his way to the end zone seven times. He was also in on 11 tackles on defense as well.

Kyle Garcia – Balmorhea – 26-302 yards, 3 TDs rushing; 7 tackles
A big game on the ground for Garcia, as he topped the 300-yard mark and was a huge help in vaulting the Bears past Valley and advance to the state title game.

Taron Smith – Milford – 21-30-2 for 470 yards, 8 TDs passing; 21-186 yards, 1 TD rushing; 199 return yards, 1 KO return TD
Smith did everything he could, racking up 656 yards of total offense, throwing eight touchdown passes, running for one, and returning a kickoff for a touchdown in their hard-fought loss.

Parker Carson – Valley – 20-33-0 for 402 yards, 5 TDs
In a valiant effort, Carson led a big passing attack against Balmorhea, as the Partiots pulled within eight points late in the game but lost 96-66.

Jayton Walden – Happy – 20-148 yards, 1 TD rushing; 2-20 yards receiving
Walden grinded out some tough yardage for the Cowboys, leading his team with 148 yards rushing, in their loss to Borden County.

Isaiah Sampson – Dallas Lutheran – 19-239 yards, 2 TDs rushing; 6-9-0 for 129 yards, 3 TDs passing; 14 tackles
In Dallas Lutheran’s state championship game against Austin Veritas, Sampson had another big game, with 368 yards of total offense and 14 tackles on defense, as Lutheran won, 54-48.
